5 events to check out this weekend in Sudbury

Test your rock climbing skills, VOTE for your favourite candidates in the 2018 Municipal Election or get a head start on Halloween and dress as your favourite zombie for the NCRD zombie skate. Another weekend, another list of things to do in Sudbury!

ARC FLASH

The  4th Annual ARC FLASH Bouldering Competition is back this Friday, October 19 at 6pm. Test your mettle at the competition. Registration starts at 5pm and after the competition there will be a social and awards.

Jennifer Holub Album Release Party 

This Sudbury, Ontario native is releasing her sophomore album, The Reckoning, which is a collection she envisioned from the start as a feminist call to action. Her album release party is Friday, October 19 at 7pm the Sudbury Theatre Centre. The Ape-ettes will be opening the show.

Election Bus at the Market

We think it is REALLY important that all eligible voters cast their votes by Monday, October 22nd and the City of Greater Sudbury is making it easier than ever. This Saturday, October 20th between 12pm-2pm the Election Bus will be parked at the market for you to hop on and cast your vote in the 2018 municipal election! Make sure to bring your Voter Information Letter and a piece of ID.

Nickel City Roller Derby 2018 Zombie Gathering

Join NCRD on Saturday, October 22nd at the Sudbury Events Centre at 8 pm for a night of zombie fun. There will be a zombie skate with live music from SOUNDJACK with prizes, a photo wall and refreshments. Admission is free and skate and safety gear rental is $10. Afterwards, head downstairs to The Asylum for the afterparty.

Try Curling for Free 

The Copper Cliff Curling Club wants you to come out and try your hand at curling this Sunday, October 21 at 1pm. In 90 minutes their instructors will orient you to the ice, review how to deliver a stone and sweep and even finish out the session with a quick end or two. Space is limited so make sure to register here.
