The political world is definitely a difficult one to enter, and even more intimidating for women, who are already historically under represented. This is why Amanda Kingsley-Malo took action into her own hands and founded the organization Politics NOW who’s mission is to empower, educate and encourage northern Ontario women to participate in the political process at all levels. Why is it so important for women to be involved in politics anyway? Simply put because they offer a different perspective. That statement doesn’t just end at women though, perspectives from different cultural, social and economic backgrounds is invaluable in politics. Diverse representation is key to the democratic process and Amanda is doing her part to help. In this edition of the show we hear more about the work that Politics NOW is doing, get some background info on what exactly and MP vs an MPP does, and the basics on the four big parties. Listen in to the episode here and check out our Spotify playlist here.
