Crater Creatives: Isak Vaillancourt
Isak is a young local photographer full of energy and creativity. He is an amazing person who is very open minded and wants to offer the best to his clients. I recently found Isak through one of his social media platforms and hired him to do my engagement and wedding photography. I was very impressed by his work at his age, his professionalism, and the way he is able to capture a picture in a non-traditional way. He describes his work as “modern and clean” and specializes in portrait photography but is open to expanding his field to whatever the client may have in mind.
I recently interviewed Isak and this is what he had to say:
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Hello! My name is Isak Vaillancourt, and I’m a 20 year old photographer and videographer based out of Sudbury, Ontario. I’m currently enrolled in my 3rd year of Communication Studies at Laurentian University. When I’m not busy with shoots or school, I enjoy travelling, fitness and spending time with friends and family.
What first interested you in photography?
I think the first thing that interested me in photography, was having the freedom to create and capture moments to my desire. It allowed me to show the world from my perspective and I found that/still find that super intriguing.
What is your favourite kind of photography?
My favourite kind of photography would have to be portraits. I find people to be the most dynamic and interesting subjects.
Where do you get your inspirations for your work?
A lot of my inspiration comes from Pinterest, (it’s really a god sent for any creative brainstorming) and another source of inspiration would have to be my favourite photographers.
