It’s 1983 and teenager Elio Perlman (Timothée Chalamet) is spending the summer at his parents’ Italian villa. He spends his days transcribing classical music, reading books, and hanging out with his friend Marzia (Esther Garrel).
But when a charming American named Oliver (Armie Hammer) arrives to intern for Elio’s father (Michael Stuhlbarg), Elio develops feelings that are passionately reciprocated by Olivier.
Based on the novel by André Aciman, the film enjoyed its World Premiere at Sundance, and cleaned up at festivals around the world with 85 wins and 201 nominations including Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay.
