Sudbury Camino 2019

It’s back! Challenge yourself this summer by joining us on Saturday, August 10th, 2019 for the annual Sudbury Camino, and experience Sudbury in a whole new way!
The Challenge
The challenge is a free event, and offers an authentic and unique Camino-like experience while enabling the discovery of Greater Sudbury’s portion of The Great Trail (Trans Canada Trail) and the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail. This on-foot journey invites you to challenge yourself and explore our community and the breathtaking natural environments that surround it. In its entirety, the 30 km journey begins at the Kinsmen Sports Complex and finishes at Moonlight Beach. However, this challenge is made to be tailored so that you can create the kind of experience you are looking for with varying start points offering unique experiences!
How to Participate:
1. HIKE WITH US ON THE EVENT DAY
RSVP by completing the online registration form by clicking on the ‘Find Tickets” link above, or by visiting http://www.rainbowroutes.com/sudbury-camino-2019-registration
Join us on the event day at the starting location of your choice, or by meeting us at Moonlight Beach to be shuttled to your chosen start point:
A) 30 km from Kinsmen Sports Complex to Moonlight Beach
Start time: 8 a.m. Shuttle bus:Departs from Moonight Beach to Kinsmen Sports Complex at 7:15 a.m.
Complete the full 30 km on-foot journey, and embrace the dynamic scenery as you travel along several official RRA trails and a series of urban routes. This option will test your endurance and strength, while triggering your senses and appreciation for our community.
B) 21 km from Robinson Park to Moonlight Beach
Start time: 10 a.m. Shuttle bus:Departs from Moonight Beach to Robinson Park at 9:15 a.m.
Complete the 21 km challenge from Robinson Park to Moonlight Beach, and embrace the experience of navigating 5 official RRA Trails, and a series of unique urban routes.
C) 14 km from the downtown Farmer’s Market to Moonlight Beach
Start time: 12 p.m. Shuttle bus:Departs from Moonight Beach to the downtown Farmer’s Market at 11:15 a.m.
Complete the 14 km challenge by kicking off your adventure at the downtown Farmer’s Market. You will continue your on foot journey towards Moonlight Beach enjoying the views found along four of the official RRA trails, including the scenic Lake Laurentian Conservation area.
D) 4 km from Bioski Cottage to Moonlight Beach
Start time: 3 p.m. Shuttle bus:Departs from Moonight Beach to the Bioski Cottage at 2:15 p.m.
This 4 km challenge is a perfect option for families to get outdoors and explore their natural surroundings together. This option will guide you along the beautiful Lake Laurentian to Moonlight Beach trail.
Participants can meet us at Moonlight Beach to be shuttled to their selected starting location. This way when we arrive at our final destination, Moonlight Beach, participants can collect their prizes, enjoy a swim and easily depart to their previously parked cars or be picked up. The shuttle bus will depart Moonlight Beach promptly at the above mention quarter past times.
2. WALK IT ON YOUR OWN
If you missed out on the event, don’t worry, you can still rock the Sudbury Camino with your friends and family until August 30th! Don’t forget to take pictures at the following landmarks: Kinsmen Sports Complex, Southview Greenhouse, the Downtown Market, Living with Lakes, Bioski Cottage, and Moonlight Beach.
