Sudbury Performance Group – Godspell
Godspell was the first major musical theatre offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award winner, Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Children of Eden), and it took the world by storm. Led by the international hit, "Day by Day," Godspell features a parade of beloved songs, including "Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord," "Learn Your Lessons Well," "All for the Best," "All Good Gifts," "Turn Back, O Man" and "By My Side." A small group of people help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and hefty doses of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, is employed as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus' messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life. Boasting a score with chart topping songs, a book by a visionary playwright (John-Michael Tebelak) and a feature film, Godspell is a sensation that continues to touch audiences. Because of its small technical demands and minimal cast size, it has become a staple of theatre companies, large and small.

Jokestack – A Night of Comedy starring Jason Allen & Marc Anthony Sinagoga
Funny, Hip and Cool laughs are on their way for SPG! Sudbury—Two of Canada’s fastest-rising comics are on their way to the Nickle City this month. It was announced today by Sudbury Performance Group president, Mark Mannisto, that the company has booked its comics for its January evening of stand-up comedy, ‘The Jokestack: Starring Jason Allen and Marc-Anthony Sinagoga’. “On January 26th, we are pleased to be hosting one of Canada’s hardest-working comics, Jason Allen,” states Mannisto. “Jason has performed nationwide, with some of the funniest acts there are, and we are stoked to have him light it up here in Sudbury.” Jason Allen is a stand-up comic from London, Ontario, now living in Hamilton, Ontario. Jason has traveled the country, working with such headliners as Tom Segura, Brian Posehn, Kevin Pollak, Jeremy Hotz, and MTV’s Jackass as part of their Canadian tour. Jason has been featured in comedy festivals such as JFL 42, the Brantford Comedy Festival, the Border City Comedy Festival, and the Cottage Country Comedy Festival. Jason tours regularly with Absolute Comedy, and is a performer to watch for in the future. Marc-Anthony Sinagoga is a young, stand-up comedian, born and raised in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Audiences gather to see Marc-Anthony relay his outlandish life experiences with brilliant imitation, wit, and loveable stage presence. He recreates his life experiences as an overweight Italian going against the family grain in a melting-pot society. In recent years, Marc-Anthony was a part of JFL 42, invited to the Dallas Comedy Festival 2017 & 18, a finalist in the Cleveland Comedy Festival as well as the Border City Comedy Festival, and the winner of the Brantford Comedy Festival. Jason and Marc will be performing with The Sudbury Performance Group’s upcoming edition of ‘The Jokestack’ at the Trevi Bar & Grill on...
