No other performer has captured the intrigue and electricity of this discipline, and it’s doubtful that anyone ever will. Born in Havana, Cuba, Fernandez learned his skills from his father, himself a recognized professional stage hypnotist. Fernandez’s first stage appearance was as his fathers assistant at the age of 4. It wasn’t until his teens that Fernandez devoted himself to these mysterious realms. With the aid of his father, Fernandez learned the fundamentals of hypnosis and how to hold any audience spellbound by refining his stage technique. In his twenties, Fernandez studied with highly acclaimed Canadian hypnotist and psychic researcher Alan Spraggett. Fernandez has appeared with Jerry Lewis, Bob Hope, John Candy, Dan Ackroyd and Burton Cummings just to name a few. He has also appeared on numerous television shows which have aired worldwide and is currently working on a reality television project. Fernandez starred in his own stage production “Caliente” at the Jaragua Hotel and Casino in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic for 2 years. In 1990, Fernandez became a certified hypnotherapist and has produced a series of self-help seminars that are presented on luxury cruise ships across the globe. Letterkenny revolves around the dustups that Wayne (Keeso) and his buds get into with their small-town Ontario rivals. There’s the Hicks, the Skids and the Hockey Players, who get at each other about the most mundane things, often ending with someone getting their ass kicked. “A Night of Letterkenny Comedy” will feature comics Nathan Dales, Jared Keeso, Mark Forward and K. Trevor Wilson. John Doyle of the The Globe and Mail described the series as “refreshing and intoxicating,” noting that “Almost all the conversations are raw comedy and utterly plausible as small-town guy talk, not just in Canada but in villages and parishes wherever the grass grows.”

Il avait alors imité avec brio chacun des artistes ayant collaboré à la célèbre chanson humanitaire We Are The World, de Michael Jackson et Lionel Ritchie, enregistrée par United Support of Artists (USA) for Africa. Cette prestation lui a valu peu de temps après une invitation à présenter cette même version de We Are The World au Tonight Show, animé par Johnny Carson sur les ondes de NBC. Ce fut la gloire instantanée. La suite des choses, nous la connaissons. Parmi les imitations les plus remarquables d’André-Philippe Gagnon, notons entre autres Céline Dion, Ray Charles, Alice Cooper, Susan Boyle, Yvon Deschamps, Pierre Lapointe, Jean-Pierre Ferland, Gregory Charles, Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, les Rolling Stones et Bono.
