Casual listeners as well as ardent music fans enjoy Duncan Cameron’s skillful performance of rock and country hits as well as his selections of traditional Celtic songs and fiddle tunes. Traditional Irish, English and French-Canadian groups have contributed much of Duncan's repertoire, but classical, country, and funk have also added to his unique approach. These influences as well as his impressive array of instruments are sometimes combined and infused within a song. His use of a looper and other technology to enhance his sound makes his solo shows unexpectedly rich in timbre and range. Thursday, June 27 - Max Marshall with Mike McKenna Jr. - 5:30pm and 9:00pm - Pass the hat. Max returns to the Townehouse for another great night of wild roots music. From Early era blues and ragtime to his own songs, Max is a captivating master performer, a guitar acrobat and an engaging stage personality. Born in Windsor, Ontario, and currently based in Essex County, Max Marshall has performed publicly since childhood and in live music venues since the age of 14, and has grown into a passion for stories from the vast palate of the Canadian folk identity. Marshall has chosen finger style acoustic guitar as his medium with a preference for folk/country blues/ragtime as his true musical purpose. In a performance that extends from soft introspection to frenzied, bluesy, interpretations, Max Marshall gives audiences a heartfelt, personal performance, featuring a guitar style that is largely underexposed. With years of extensive touring in Canada and the UK, his day job has been left behind and this proud father of two has an album release, cross Canada tour, summer festivals as well as extensive European and U.K. tours to keep him busy in 2019. Mike McKenna Jr. joins Max on this tour around the province... With thunderous vocal prowess and a unique authenticity in his stories, Mike McKenna Jr is a soulful singer-songwriter from Cape Breton Island who has captivated listeners in the Montreal music scene, in his native Maritimes and around the North American folk community. His vivid tales of modern heartbreak and tragic sea voyages are a fresh throwback to the nautical-themed traditional songs of his home province of Nova Scotia, and a revival of a rare style brought into the mainstream by veteran Canadian songwriters like Gordon Lightfoot and the late Stan Rogers.

Welcome 2019 ... Our Sunday Afternoons have been great this year... Richard Mende and Paul Loewenberg take a couple hours to play old Blues, Ragtime, Bluegrass, Gospel with a touch of Folk music. About half the time we have special guests join in on Bass or Fiddle or Dobro or Banjo... but the rest of the time it's 2 music encyclopedias playing the best from 1800 to about 1960. More often is the 1920's and 30's. We love it when the kids dance. Bring the kids, bring your parents... meet your friends. Have a great meal... A great afternoon of peace and good music. We are back next week with more Fats Waller, Mississippi Sheiks, Hank Williams, Bob Wills, The Carter Family and more. Monday, July 1st - The Country Casanovas - $5.00 at the door - after the fireworks As soon as they are done setting the sky alight to celebrate our Country's birthday, head on over to the Townehouse for The Country Casanovas. This is a stripped down version of the 6 piece Western Swing band that we saw in February but will still provide an evening of swinging old country, surf and twang. These guys have done residencies at The Dakota Tavern and The Cameron House in Toronto so we have to get them while we can because they are in high demand most nights in Toronto./

La Fromagerie presents the first in its new series "The Fromo Celebrates: The Song" on Wednesday July 3rd, 2019 from 6pm - 8:30pm.
