Sunday afternoon Blues, Rag, Bluegrass and Gospel

Townehouse Tavern 206 Elgin Street, Sudbury, Canada

Welcome 2019 ... Our Sunday Afternoons have been great this year... Richard Mende and Paul Loewenberg take a couple hours to play old Blues, Ragtime, Bluegrass, Gospel with a touch of Folk music. About half the time we have special guests join in on Bass or Fiddle or Dobro or Banjo... but the rest of the time it's 2 music encyclopedias playing the best from 1800 to about 1960. More often is the 1920's and 30's. We love it when the kids dance. Bring the kids, bring your parents... meet your friends. Have a great meal... A great afternoon of peace and good music. We are back next week with more Fats Waller, Mississippi Sheiks, Hank Williams, Bob Wills, The Carter Family and more. If you are a player and want to get in on the kitchen jam... come and talk to us...

NLFB 2019: After Hours ft. Oh Geronimo, Shaky Stars

The Lounge 390 Elgin Street, Sudbury, Ontario, Canada

For the full schedule visit: www.nlfb.ca/events-schedule Saturday night after hours show ft. Oh Geronimo & Shaky Stars. Oh Geronimo Oh Geronimo crafts anthemic indie-rock songs for the sentimental soul. “Music that hits the right note of gentle reflection without coming across as melodramatic or overly sombre… represented with a clarity and honesty that many bands aspire to but fail to actually realize,” (Sonic Abuse). The band has toured extensively over the last couple years, making appearances at NXNE, Home County Folk Festival, CMW and the 2018 Sound of Music Festival (Burlington, ON) where they were named “Fan Favourite” based on their multiple showcase performances. Shaky Stars Sudbury based Shaky Stars is a return to straight-forward, ragged rock n’ roll. Their debut, self-titled record was released this past year on all platforms. Drawing from the likes of great writers like The Replacements, The Weakerthans, Springsteen and Guided by Voices, these old friends have churned out some well-crafted songs, threaded together by an underlying sonic texture, to which they credit layers of fuzz and overdrive. For tickets visit www.nlfb.ca/tickets. NOTE: Full Festival Pass required for admission, pending capacity. Otherwise, show admission may be available by paying cover at the door. 19+ Doors at 10pm. For all festival information visit www.nlfb.ca or call 705-674-5512.
