Take a break... come for a lunchtime walk to boost your productivity or simply break up the day! The routes for this walk will vary week-to-week. Albert will be the hike leader on December 21 and January 4th, and the routes will be announced at the beginning of the hikes. As always, Albert is sure to bring you to some scenic and interesting locations in the downtown and surrounding area! There will be an option to extend the hike for those who wish, and to join in for a cup of something warm and delicious at one of the local cafes. Speed & terrain: moderate (be prepared to walk partly on sidewalks, partly on trails) Distance: roughly ~3km (flexible) Approx duration: 55min Meeting location: For the duration of the construction at Tom Davies Courtyard, please meet at the entrance at the corner of Paris and Larch Make sure to dress appropriately, in layers & to wear good walking boots. Latitude 46 Publishing is thrilled to host Olympians Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford to celebrate the launch of their book Soulmates on Ice: From Hometown Glory to the Top of the Podium. Local sports journalist, Laura E. Young has chronicled the unlikely path Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford followed on the way to the top of the world in figure skating. Young will chat with the Northern Ontario elite athletes on stage Friday, January 4, at 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., at the Sudbury Theatre Centre. ADMISSION IS FREE. Fans will get a behind-the-scenes look into Duhamel and Radford professional and personal lives. In Soulmates on Ice the two-time world pair champions and three-time Olympic medallists reflect on how they developed a working relationship and honed their resilience in a sport that often left them bloodied and bruised. Ultimately, the two-time world champions earned the perfect, storybook ending to the sport they have adored since they laced up their first pairs of skates. Soulmates on Ice: From Hometown Glory to the Top of the Podium will be available for sale at the event.

Dreams do come true! Join us in finding your vision and making clarity to what you desire for the year 2019. We will help you understand the importance of focus, identifying how to stay on track and develop that drive that will carry you into making your goals a reality. We will come together to develop a vision board or dream board with a collage of images, pictures and affirmations of one's dreams and desires, to serve as a source of inspiration and motivation during the year of 2019. The usefulness of vision boards has been endorsed by celebrities such as Jim Carrey, Ellen DeGeneres, Oprah Winfrey and Steve Harvey. This will be a fun afternoon of exploring, dreaming and coming alive for the coming year. Bring an open mind and an open heart. Drop into our studio for some hands-on zine making. We'll have tones of materials here, but feel free to bring your own. Come with an idea in mind or come seeking inspiration. The studio will be open every Monday from January 14th to February 4th from 4 to 6pm for any aspiring or veteran zinsters and everyone in between. The event is free/ pay-what-you-can.
