She now embarks on a short home tour to share. Originally from Sudbury, Canada, MSEA lives in a sound world of her own where she explores the boundaries between beauty and discomfort. Her voice is an ever changing instrument, floating in the midst of soundscape and noise, leading the compositions with fragility and subtlety. This event is taking place at The Tree of Life North in Sudbury in the Rooted in Community space! Join me for an afternoon of playful creativity. We will begin with a grounding meditation and an opportunity to smudge. Then we will combine Intuitive Painting with Collage to create our own unique masterpiece. We will use beautiful pieces of paper, intricate stamps, fluid inks, acrylic paints, markers and other mediums to create a brilliant piece of art on gessoboard (after the workshop, this board is suitable for framing or can stand alone on a shelf). I will guide and support you through this process. No artistic experience is necessary to take part in this workshop. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. Welcome 2019 ... Our Sunday Afternoons have been great this year... Richard Mende and Paul Loewenberg take a couple hours to play old Blues, Ragtime, Bluegrass, Gospel with a touch of Folk music. About half the time we have special guests join in on Bass or Fiddle or Dobro or Banjo... but the rest of the time it's 2 music encyclopedias playing the best from 1800 to about 1960. More often is the 1920's and 30's. We love it when the kids dance. Bring the kids, bring your parents... meet your friends. Have a great meal... A great afternoon of peace and good music. David's usual set up includes 6 Quartz Crystal Bowls, 8-10 Paiste Planet Gongs, 2 Santoors, Shruti Box & Harmonica. Occasionally David Uses His Vocals To Create Harmonized Chants. Nothing is amplified, pre-recorded or rehearsed. Each set and performance is sonically pure, unique and completely improvised. You can purchase CDs and other merchandise at the shows with cash or cheque or online with a credit card. We invite you to take a seat or lay down as close to the instruments as possible to get the greatest effect. Remember to bring a yoga mat, blanket and/or pillow as most venues will have floor space to lay down. Chairs for regular seating are also available.
