I'm hitting the road for my first tour in 5 years, driving east (and then coming back west) in support of the new album - Patience. Who is Preetam? Recently named the recipient of a Folk Music Ontario Award and featured on CBC (Toronto) Here and Now as its Song of the Week artist, "Melodic storytelling" describes his music best, and Preetam Sengupta's live show is built around simple performance, playful stage banter, and very little pyro. While the (humbling) comparison most often goes the other way, Preetam’s niece has said that Paul Simon sounds like him. We’re pretty sure Mr. Simon is unaware of this. www.preetam.ca

Shaky Stars is a new musical project from Marc Donato. His debut recording under the moniker has just become available through iTunes, Soundcloud, Spotify, Bandcamp, etc... Tonight we have a celebration of this release. Marc has been an important player in the scene for many years. The Wharf Rats were leaders in Sudbury's rock scene through the 90's. He composes music for award winning short films. He lends guitar and banjo skills to various fun music projects through the years. Shaky Stars is Marc's return to his love of straight forward ragged rock and roll... The Replacements, Lowest of the Low, Springsteen, The Clash. Joining Marc for Shaky Stars set is fellow Wharf Rats Joe, Dan and Nick... plus long time collaborator and co-conspirator Ryan Levecque. Sharing the bill tonight is a line-up of artists that have all been instrumental in this music scene for years.... Brian Dunn returns for a rare appearance, kicking off the night.
