The Almighty Rhombus SWISH Pre-Release w/ guests Jane’s Party

Townehouse Tavern 206 Elgin Street, Sudbury, Canada

Sat. Dec. 16 $15 (includes copy of SWISH EP for the first 150 people through the door), $10 once the copies of the EP run out. 10PM The Almighty Rhombus will be starting off the night at 10PM, playing two sets of unreleased material, a few choice covers, and the entirety of their new EP SWISH, which will be officially released in the New Year. For Rhombus' first set, there will be seats, which will be removed for the second set to facilitate a dance party. Rhombus will be joined by Jane's Party, one of the best bands in Canada, who will close out the night. The Almighty Rhombus SWISH is Rhombus' first released since 2013, and their first with guitarist Keegan McDonald and bassist Laura Willett. SWISH acts as... a bridge to the Rhombus of old, comprising the last four songs arranged with their previous guitarist Cameron Drake and bassist Neil Bednis, re-arranged to suit the new lineup (Neil also wrote one of the songs on the EP). SWISH was produced by Ian Blurton (Public Animal, C'Mon, Change of Heart), who has produced records for the Weakerthans, Elliot Brood, and Attack in Black. Ian's fingerprints are all over this record, which was recorded live off the floor at Pro Gold Studios in Toronto using real analog instruments and no digital emulation. SWISH will be released on a luxurious, limited-eidition 20x20 poster inside a protective sleeve with the same dimensions as a vinyl record, so it fits in with your existing record collection. It comes with a pristine, high bitrate download of the EP in WAV format. Rhombus has spent the past three years writing new material and establishing a new musical chemistry with their present lineup through relentless live performance, rehearsal, and honest intra-band dialog.
