STC Bingo at Boardwalk Sudbury

The Sudbury Theatre Centre is pleased to announce that Boardwalk Gaming Centre Sudbury has given STC an opportunity to become the host of a fundraising bingo night on Tuesday, March 7, from 7:15pm to 10 pm. The STC will be selling tickets to attend at $15 each, which will be redeemable for an all-in bingo package valued at $30 upon attendance the night of the STC fundraiser. Please note there is a limit to one ticket redemption per person, and that you must be 18 years or older to participate. Come out and support your Sudbury Theatre Centre! To purchase your ticket, please contact the DiBrina Box Office at STC by phone at 705-674-8381 or boxoffice@sudburytheatre.ca Participants must use a bingo dauber to play paper bingo. You can bring your own or they are available for purchase at the food and beverage counter. Additional bingo cards (or credits for electronic play) can also be purchased at any time during the event. You only need to ask a CSR for assistance. We encourage participants to arrive a little early, especially if you have not been to Boardwalk or played bingo before. This way you can become acclimated to the centre and maximize your enjoyment of your event. In addition, arriving early is recommended if a larger group wants to be seated together in the centre. Participants will have a choice of playing traditional paper bingo or playing the event on touch‐screen electronic bingo. Boardwalk Gaming is a full service venue with a full food and beverage (Liquor licence) menu. The food is great and all participants are welcome to enjoy all the offerings. Re-shaping Your Poem with Poet Laureate Kim Fahner

(Re)shaping Your Poem: Tips and suggestions for revising your poems to make them stronger with Poet Laureate Kim Fahner. This one-on-one session will include a brief discussion of approaches to revising poems. Consideration of stanzaic structure, line length, and the importance of using concrete sensory imagery will be addressed. Participants should bring at least one piece, and not more than two. Kim will meet briefly with each poet and suggest ways in which to strengthen at least one of their poems. These pieces may be considered for publication and inclusion in the Sudbury Street Poetry Project.

As part of their dedication to the community, Boston Pizza has invited Canadian Blood Services to participate in their Celebrity Server Night on Wednesday, March 8th from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Blood typing will be available to anyone who is 17 years or older. Boston Pizza customers are encouraged to come out and find out what their blood type is and to book an appointment to donate blood at the Sudbury Blood Donor Clinic.
