Municipal Election 2018: Ward 8 Candidates Town Hall

Get to know your 2018 Ward 8 candidates and their priorities for our community! The Ward 8 CAN and the Social Planning Council invite you to attend the Ward 8 candidates town hall at the Lasalle Secondary School Auditorium on Wednesday, October 10th at 7:00 pm. We will have predetermined questions followed by questions from the audience and meet and greet with the candidates. Light refreshments will be served. The four candidates: Rob Franceschini, Kyle McCall, Stefano Presenza and Al Sizer have been invited to attend.

House of David Reggae Band – Tosh Tribute

Friday, October 12th - House of David Gang Reggae Band - Peter Tosh Tribute - $10.00 at the door - 10pm Come on out and get your Reggae on! $10 Peter Tosh was the musical partner of Bob Marley for the early years of their lives... together they create the blueprint of Reggae music for the next 40 years. Bob was the Mysticism of Rasta and reggae, but Peter Tosh was the Soul and Energy. Throughout their career, House of David Gang has been known for their uplifting roots rock reggae sound, which pays homage to the classic 70's & 80's Jamaican sound mixed with a modern rootsy Canadian feel. The band takes its name from The House of David, an afterhours spot on Queen Street West in Toronto that was a Rasta hotspot for reasoning, dancing and reggae music from the late 80s until the mid 90s.

Symphony Crawl

First Annual Symphony Crawl! Featuring local musicians from various genres, performing in 27 walkable venues. Each passport holder will enjoy performances in each venue, and is eligible to receive a small gift from participating venues upon visiting. All proceeds to Sudbury Symphony Orchestra. Passports are $50, cash only, at SSO Office, One Sky, Gourmet World, The Cedar Nest Decor Cafe Inc., Jett Landry Music, and Thorneloe University. Maps and schedules will be available at each venue on the day of the crawl. So grab your passport, pick a venue and enjoy the music!
