His compositions and adaptations of old songs in both French and English reveal the depth and contrast of emotions in lyrics as well as instrumental music. To that end, his arrangements and compositions draw not only from Celtic roots but also classical music, funk, and other popular styles.

This band has been a special project for 3 years now. Once again bringing in 3 special teams… the Townehouse house musicians of many years… Ryan, Pepper, Matt, Paul… the amazing singers… Nadia, Anita, Jennifer… the horns… Melanie, Cathy, Darcy… to come together as a tight unit that plays the greatest soul music ever written from Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, The Staple Singers, Ray Charles, Sam and Dave, Wilson Pickett, Etta James and so much more. It looks like we might pay tribute with a song or two from Sharon Jones and Charles Bradley, modern soul singers who recently passed.

After 31 years, The Whiskey River Blues Band has a long list of genres of music it can easily handle… Chicago Blues, Texas Blues… 60’s rock favourites… groovy dancing soul music… old Motown favourites.
