UP HERE 4: Charlotte Day Wilson / Geoffroy / NYSSA

The Grand 23 Elgin Street, Sudbury

We'll close off this year's festival on Sunday night with Charlotte Day Wilson in the intimacy of Sudbury's century-old Grand Theatre. CHARLOTTE DAY WILSON Charlotte Day Wilson is a 25-year-old vocalist, producer and multi-instrumentalist from Toronto with roots in R&B, folk, and soul. Her singular voice and timeless sound has garnered global attention since her first EP in 2016. She's since released Stone Woman and has been streamed more than 25 million times. Her project is defined by clarity, vulnerability and strength. It is a clear statement of intent, a stirring demonstration of Charlotte’s power and poise and her certain emergence as an essential voice in 2018 and beyond. GEOFFROY Montreal-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Geoffroy has been gaining traction with his downtempo, electronica/trip-hop inspired sound. It's chill, it's smooth, it's groovy af. Geoffroy was named Apple Music’s Favourite New Artist and his collaboration with Men I Trust and Thirsty, reached the top spot on HypeMachine. Following the path of artists such as Chet Faker, SOHN or Sylvan Esso, this is one to watch and you'll get to say "I saw him here first." NYSSA Nyssa seems to inhabit some kind of enchanted forest-cum-trash palace where power-pop, punk, soul, glam, disco, and country all get doled out in equal, glitter-soaked measure. Nyssa is a singer, songwriter, producer, and performer for our age.
