Frontin’ the stage and representing the North, Sudbury based Singer/Songwriter Melissa Belanger (Missy Dawn) is back after an extended musical hiatus. Melissa’s music career launched in 1999 when she formed Canada’s Leading Dixie Chick Tribute Band -Dixie Chicklets Rockabilly/Country/Blues Her tone, uncannily similar to Natalie Maine’s, she is often compared to her musical influences Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood. Melissa has toured many corners of North America including both Eastern/ Western Coasts of Canada, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Mississippi, and New York headlines and supporting at Festivals, Fairs, Casinos & Clubs. Intro to Paverpol Sculptures

Join us in recreating a Paverpol Sculpture.I will guide you, step-by-step, in a non-intimidating, laid-back atmosphere. Whether or not you think of yourself as a "creative" person, if you would like to be more creative, my intro to paverpol sculptures is designed just for you! No previous art experience is necessary! The Intro workshop is the perfect place to start into the world of Paverpol. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned artist everyone is welcome. In this class you will learn the basics, starting by building a form from a wire frame with aluminum foil. Fun is what you will have at Little Art Garage whether its time to catch up with friends or solo the choice is yours. In this full day workshop laughs and good conversation is what you can expect.I will help you get started through activities designed to increase your creative thinking and bring more joy to your life. I can’t think of a better way to spend my day. We will be creating a sitting piece and one colour you can chose from male, female angels or fairies. We will help you understand the importance of focus, identifying how to stay on track and develop that drive that will carry you into making your goals a reality. We will come together to develop a vision board or dream board with a collage of images, pictures and affirmations of one's dreams and desires, to serve as a source of inspiration and motivation during the year of 2018. The usefulness of vision boards has been endorsed by celebrities such as Jim Carrey, Ellen DeGeneres, Oprah Winfrey and Steve Harvey. This will be a fun afternoon of exploring, dreaming and coming alive for the coming year. Bring an open mind and an open heart. 5th Annual Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser

Heart of Ruth Mission is hosting our 5th Annual Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser on January 13th, 2018 in Sudbury! This year will be bigger and better than ever! Mark your calendars friends :) All proceeds will directly support our Transition House project for the kids living at Rainbow House Children's Home. According to the Kenyan Government, when an individual turns 18 they must leave the orphanage. Most of our kids at 18 years of age are not yet completed Form (Kenyan equivalence of Highschool). Heart of Ruth Mission wants to create a safe and secure place for these vulnerable kids to transition into adulthood and eventually independant living. The young adults will live in this home until they are finished education and can stand on their own two feet. The night starts at 4pm at 430 Westmount Ave (in the Westmount Plaza) under the Christian Horizons sign. From there you are welcome to check out some handmade Kenyan items for sale, and talk to team members about our transition home project as well as our Child Sponorship Program. Live entertainment will begin at 5pm (artist to be announced). This dinner is a drop in setting, welcoming guests anytime between 4-8pm. As always, we will have a variety of sauces to choose from (meaty, vegetarian, and vegan!). Your $10 ticket includes a plate full of spaghetti, slice of garlic bread, caesar salad, a drink and an entrance to the door prize! Since taking the plunge into standup back in 2008, Mark has performed multiple times at Just For Laughs, won the Great Canadian Laugh Off (including it's $25,000 grand prize), a Canadian Comedy Award for "Best Newcomer", and was a finalist for the Tim Sims Award and on XM Radio’s Canada’s Next Top Comic.
