Greenbank & Martine Fortin in Sudbury

La Fromagerie 80 Elgin Street, Sudbury, Canada

They’ve been described as “that band from Almost Famous” and referred to as “the denim disasters”. Their harmonies will draw you in and their hilarious road stories will keep you wanting more. Whether they’re packing the dance floor with their band or performing an intimate duo concert, Thunder Bay folk-rockers Greenbank are always a wild ride! With their rag-tag band in tow, songwriters Jimmy Breslin and Craig Smyth have been winning over audiences across the country with their unique brand of down-home, harmony infused, old school folk-rock since their start in 2012… Their first EP “Greenbank Trio” (2012), “a feel-good folk-rock romp” (NewCanadianMusic.ca), landed the band club and festival dates across Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick. A brief stint backing award winning country singer Scott Kyle King had them opening for the likes of Chicago, Liann Rimes, REO Speedwagon and Ronnie Dunn. In 2014, a lineup shift and a few more tours led the boys back into the studio recording a new collection of material leading to their second EP: “Into the Wind”. This second effort brought the groups first national tours and a new understanding of being “on the road”. Their newfound grit and adventurous musically found an audience in the Canadian east coast and landed returning festival spots at Feels Good Folly Fest, the Saint John Boardwalk and Collaborate and Listen. In October 2014 Greenbank were invited to be featured performers on David Suzuki’s Blue Dot Tour. Although Into the Wind was relatively unacknowledged in the media, songs ‘The Captain’, ‘Homegrown’ and ‘I Feel Alright’ still remain fan favourites. The band’s first album Money Machine (2015), a sarcastic observation of societies destructive obsession with profits hit the number one spot on CILU 102.7’s top 20 list and stayed there for five weeks following its release. The co-headlined Money...

Sex & Summer, Vintage Slang, Les Gauchistes, Deadline

Townehouse Tavern 206 Elgin Street, Sudbury, Canada

*Sex & Summer - Indie Rock/Pop* Kristen Brutto & Scott Riching front this 4-piece reverb dripping band. The band is releasing a new single this fall, and hitting the road once more to spread the Fender love. The Sex & Summer sound has toughened up ever so slightly since their first single Netflix Nights. With a few new members, it now tastes more like Pop Rocks than Bubble gum. https://youtu.be/21Zt42-Iutk www.facebook.com/sexandsummer *Vintage Slang - Alt Rock* A group who’s rooted in 1990s/early 2000s Canadian Rock, their debut album “Standing Still” was released in February 2016 & was co-produced by NOMFA Best Album nominee Brent Wohlberg. Vintage Slang are also winners of the 2016 Q92.7 Rock Band Rumble. http://vintageslang.ca/ *Les Gauchistes* Les Gauchistes perfuse their work with the reality of living in Northern Ontario. This five-piece of musicians loaded with musicality and surprising energy delivers new songs for an album coming soon in a not-too-distant future. Inspired by everything from Metallica to Mutemath, from Radiohead to Japanese punk-metal with meowing cat samples, the occasional weird free jazz song or chiptune, the many inspirations of the five members meld together to form their unique ambient rock tunes. https://gauchistes.bandcamp.com/ *Deadline Alt/Grunge Rock* The island boys are sailin' back to town! Everyone who catches this band play is blown away. Haunting vocal melodies above minor licks that creep you out a little bit..but kind of make you feel like a bad ass. Once you hear them live, you're suddenly transported into a smokey movie scene. EVERYBODY'S A SUSPECT!!
