The Motley Kitchen 70 Young Street, Sudbury, Ontario, CanadaThe Motley Kitchen's Dinner & Show series kicks off its fifth season on Friday, September 20 with Paris-based, Brazilian guitarist, multi-instrumentalist and composer, Carlos Bernardo, performing in a trio featuring Sudbury's own Jack Broumpton on drums and North Bay's Ryan Rogers on bass. Carlos is a jazz/world fusion artist whose career is living proof that music is a universal language. In Sudbury, he has developed an enthusiastic following going back to 2008 for his collaborations with singer-songwriter Patricia Cano, having co-written and arranged both of her albums,This is the New World (2009) and Madre -Amiga-Hermana (2017). Dinner and entertainment combined is $60.00 including HST. Show-only seats are $25.00 each. He divides his time among music, theatre and teaching. In France, Carlos has been working for five years with Toda Via Teatro Company with the Argentinian director, Paula Giusti composing and performing the music for “The Inspector General”(Nicolai Gogol) and currently performs the music composed for the play “Le pain nu” by Mohamed Choukri. Before that, in the early 2000’s, Bernardo worked for many years with Théâtre du Soleil's composer Jean-Jacques Lemêtre. He also was the music director of the Brazilian company Amok Teatro in Rio de Janeiro.
