Jennifer Holub and Drftr- Live at Little Montreal

Little Montreal 182 Elgin Street, Sudbury, Ontario, Canada

Jennifer Holub and DRFTR Live at little Montreal Bar & Deli (Sudbury, ON) Pay What You Can (Suggested donation $5-10) Music at 9 pm 19+ Jennifer Holub Music- Jennifer's music that tells our stories: the tales of the ghostly north. Jennifer Holub's story is that of the truth-seeker; the philosopher, touching hearts wherever she goes, yet eerily sharing stories of the wraith. Many of the songs and stories from Holub's upcoming LP, "The Haunting", stem from a place she doesn't understand herself. “Sometimes I have no idea where the narrative comes from,” she begins, “it flows out of me, I just make sure to document it properly. Most of the album was written in front of her bookshelf in her living room standing in the same location each time.” Co-produced by her longtime friend Brian Dunn, the songs range from full in arrangement to minimalist, bringing Holub's songwriting to life. Watch out for "The Haunting" anticipated to be released May 2016. http://www.jenniferholub.com/ DRFTR is the one-man creation of singer/songwriter/guitarist Oscar Anderson-Shortt. His soaring, soulful voice is tinged with R&B; his songs honest, intimate and from the heart. His music is best described as feely folk - all about emotion. From lost love to sharp political commentary with all life’s gritty and joyous bits in between, DRFTR taps into our common emotional landscape in a deeply thoughtful, melodic way. What began as a way to maintain a bit of sanity, of making sense of the things happening in his world, has evolved into a rich and diverse repertoire. Drawing from experience – growing up in small town Ontario, working the oil fields of Alberta, living in a South African village – DRFTR has created a portfolio of thoughtful, memorable and inspiring music. His indie rock style has matured over the past...
