Dinner & A Show w/ Emily Burgess & The Emburys

The Motley Kitchen 70 Young Street, Sudbury

The final Dinner & A Show of the season on Thursday, May 30 at The Motley Kitchen will feature Emily Burgess & The Emburys , an original roots and blues trio out of Peterborough, fronted by Emily and her blazing Gibson 339 guitar. In February 2019, they won ‘Best New Group’ at the Maple Blues Awards, followed by a successful tour of the Eastern United States. In 2018 they played over 100 shows in support of Burgess’ debut album, ‘Are We In Love?’. The album was #18 on Stingray Blues Channel’s most played albums of 2018, and featured in Joe Bonamassa’s blog ‘Blues Bands to check out in 2018’. Guitarist and vocalist, Emily Burgess sings her catchy original songs with a unique, warm and smooth vocal style. If her vocals put you at ease, don’t sit back and relax too quickly – she is about to shred it with a virtuoso guitar solo, paying homage to her heroes Chuck Berry, Freddie King, and Stevie Ray Vaughn in every lick. This cohesive three-piece band also includes Marcus Browne (drums, harmony vocals), and Dawson McManus (bass, harmony vocals). With soaring three-part harmony, expert attention to detail on their instruments, they deliver great original tunes as well as covers of blues classics. Dinner and entertainment combined is $60.00 including HST. Show-only seats are $25.00 each. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with the buffet dinner served at 6:30 p.m. and the show approximately from 7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Reserve now to assure good seats and dinner by calling The Motley Kitchen at 705-222-6685. Leave a message if they're out on a catering contract.
