Get into the Halloween Spirit in Sudbury with these spooktacular events! We have rounded up everything Halloween that you can do in Sudbury – from DIY Halloween decor to terrifying trains, there is something for everyone happening in Sudbury this month.
Terror Trains Sellwood Asylum – Friday, Saturday and Sunday until October 27 @ Northern Ontario Railroad Museum and Heritage Centre
The Terror Train is back and we cannot wait to check out the scariest event of the season! For this year’s Terror Train: A spirit lingers. The echoes of community haunt the remains. Boarded up, there’s a pervasive “wrongness” to this once vibrant place. Buildings slump into debris. We know that someone once called this Town home. People lived, laughed, and loved in those ruins, fought and cried behind those walls. No Town better fits the above than SELLWOOD. Enter the Terror Train 6077 – Sellwood Asylum.
The 8th annual Terror Train runs Friday – Sunday until October 27 from 7-10pm. They will reopen on October 30 with a special Halloween Even program. Tickets are $13 each and can be purchased in person or online here.
Halloween at Dynamic Earth – October 4-27 @ Dynamic Earth
Check out the award-winning Pumpkinferno exhibit created by Upper Canada Village features over 5,000 hand-carved pumpkins or head seven storeys beneath the Earth’s surface into the Tunnel of Terror! Each Friday at 8pm, 9pm and 10pm the tunnel will get extra scary for Friday Night Frights. There will also be many family-friendly Halloween activities like the haunted house, giant inflatables, VR Halloween games, Ghost stories around the fire and the Big Nickel Halloween Show.
Ghost Walking Tour – Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday in October @ 43 Elm Street
Take a guided walking tour through Downtown Sudbury’s spookiest locations and relive their stories! This tour includes the Castonguay murders, stories about the old underground tunnels, a haunted theatre, unsolved murders, ghost sightings and the last Sudbury hanging. This is a 2 out of 5 on the scare meter so all ages are welcome. The tour starts at 43 Elm Street (DIY Craftery & Lounge) and takes place every Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7pm and 8pm.

DIY Succulent Pumpkin Centrepiece – Thursday, October 10 @ Crosscut Distillery
Crosscut Distillery has teamed up with Leahsbackyard for another Plant Social! Create your own Succulent Pumpkin Centrepiece for your family dinner or friendsgiving while enjoying a craft cocktail. The event takes place from 7-9pm and includes one Crosscut craft cocktail, one locally grown pumpkin, three live succulent plants, decorative materials, an informative and fun instructor and complete plant care instructions.

DIY Halloween Wreath – Thursday, October 10 @ DIY Craftery & Lounge
DIY Craftery & Lounge has adapted a new favourite to the Halloween season! Choose from an array of supplies to create your own unique wreath, and get ready to be the spookiest house on the block!

DIY Welcome to Our Patch Sign – Wednesday, October 16 @ DIY Craftery & Lounge
Be the craftiest pumpkin in the patch – assemble and paint this unique sign for your front entrance! With vinyl stencils and of course, complete with your very own family name!
Nickel Nightmare – Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in October @ Rainbow Centre
Nickel Nightmare is back again this year in the Rainbow Centre every weekend in October. Be challenged in the darkness to find an escape onto the next room without knowing what creatures are hiding in the dark with you! Nickel Nightmare will fun from 6-10pm Friday and Saturday and from 6-9pm on Sunday.

Teen Halloween Party – Friday, October 18 @ Zig’s
Grab your boo-friends and your ghoul friends, and head on down to Zigs for a hair raising batch of spook-tacular good times with DJ KASH ISKOOL. The event takes place from 7-11pm and there will be prizes for the best costumes. Cover is $10.
Adult Fright Night – Friday, October 18 or Saturday, October 26 @ Leisure Farms
Spend a spooky evening at Leisure Farms for their Adult Fright Night and explore the pumpkin patch, haunted barn and corn maze at night. Admission is $20.
Nightmare on Elm Street Part V – Saturday, October 19 @ 204 Elm Street
Join the Elizabeth Fry Society of Northern Ontario for Nightmare on Elm Street Part V in support of the United Way. Open from 5-10pm, tickets are $6 or $10 for VIP.
The Northern Frights Festival – Saturday, October 19 @ Sudbury Theatre Centre
The Northern Frights Festival is back for their 5th year! Once again they will be screening the world’s most cutting edge horror films. Tickets are $10 for each matinee, $15 for the Evil Evening or $20 for the entire festival.

DIY BOO! 4ft Verticle Sign – Monday, October 21 @ DIY Craftery & Lounge
Head over to the DIY Craftery & Lounge and create your own Halloween decor! Use an array of painting and stenciling techniques to create an adorable “BOO!” sign. All materials and 4-foot vertical sign included.
DIY Buffalo Check Pumpkins – Wednesday, October 23 @ DIY Craftery & Lounge
The buffalo check pattern is so trendy – why not put it on your pumpkins? Stripe and layer paint to recreate the pattern, then finish with a cute festive stencil expression or decal.
2019 Downtown Sudbury Witches Walk – Thursday, October 24 @ Sudbury Women’s Centre
It’s time to dust off those brooms and cast a spell in support of the Sudbury Women’s Centre for the first Downtown Sudbury Witches Walk. Dress in your witch’s best for an evening tour through downtown Sudbury. Dress in your witch’s best and take an evening tour through downtown Sudbury. This event is free to attend, but participants are asked to make a small donation of personal care products (shampoo, soap, other toiletries) for the Sudbury Women’s Centre.
Monster’s Ball 5 – Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October 26 @ The Grand
It’s that time again! Sudbury Burlesque presents Monster’s Ball 5 – the Halloween costume party and burlesque show you’ve been waiting for all year! These drop-dead gorgeous ghouls can’t wait to hit the stage! So get ready for a weird, wild, and spook-tacular night filled with the eerie and unexpected. Tickets are $40 for General Admission or $55 for guaranteed seating.

Nickel City Nightmare 2019 – Saturday, October 26 @ Sudbury Events Centre
Get ghouled out, zombied up, and walk with the undead with a pair of roller skates at the Nickel City Roller Derby’s Nickel City Nightmare on Saturday, October 26. The Nightmare Skate takes place from 7-9pm for $5 followed by a ghoulish show downstairs at The Asylum with bands Like a Girl and Archelon. Entry to the show is $10 or $5 if you attended the Nightmare skate.
Halloween Bash – Saturday, October 26 @ Cousin Vinny’s
Get your best costume ready and come join Open Road for some Halloween shenanigans! The party starts at 9:30pm and there will be cash prizes for best costume. Tickets are $5 in advance and $10 at the door.
Halloween Costume Party – Saturday, October 26 @ Zig’s
Head over to Zigs for their Halloween Dance Party with music by Kash Iskool. The part starts at 9pm and there will be Halloween cocktails and a costume contest. Cover is $5.
ARC Halloween Potluck – Tuesday, October 19 @ ARC
Spend the evening enjoying some good snacks and climbing while wearing your favourite Halloween costume at ARC. The event takes place from 6-9pm.
Comedy Mash – Thursday, October 31 @ La Fromagerie
Head over to La Fromagerie for a fantastic evening of cheese, drinks, and laughs. Wear a spooky costume, sit front row, and receive $5 off of admission! This event is featuring Austin Hodkinson, Michael Hamilton, Naughty Nana Duz, Cole Leonard and Tim Kraft. Doors open at 7:30 pm and tickets are $10 without a costume of $5 with.
Crawl-o-Ween – Thursday, October 31 @ Downtown Sudbury
Trick or treat like an adult! Join your team of friends as you crawl around Downtown Sudbury to 6 of the hottest bars with over 1000 people. Everyone ends at The Grand for the BIGGEST Halloween Party in Downtown Sudbury! There will be $3 featured shot at each bar and prizes for best costumes.
