KAHA: WI DANCE THEATRE BRINGS US THE HONOURING AT STC

Celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary with the Kaha:Wi Dance Theatre’s latest production, The Honouring!  Commemorate this beautiful country’s First Nations warriors of the War of 1812 through a fascinating mix of dance and theatre production.  That’s right – Canadian history will come alive and hit the STC stage on May 12th and 13th.  Tickets are available online and we can assure you that you will not want to miss out on this multi-disciplinary performance.

In celebration of Canada 150, STC’s mandate this season is to bring Canadian stories and voices to the stage right here in Sudbury.  The Honouring will bring to life the War of 1812 from a First Nations perspective as sovereign Nation allies to Britain.  This performance will honour and respect their personal sacrifices and belief for their families, communities and future generations.  This touching story will showcase incredible Canadian talent and will tell a story that is described as a need to know.

Kaha:Wi is one of Canada’s leading contemporary dance companies which educates audiences through Indigenous performing arts encompassing storytelling, theatre and music.  The Globe and Mail said it “took the audience on a heartfelt journey through war, death and grief, but always with dignified ceremony.”

Join STC and Kaha:Wi in celebrating Canada 150 as this production brings you on a historic experience through emotional and rhythmic dance and art.  Available to view this weekend – May 12th and 13th at Sudbury Theatre Centre both @ 7:30PM.  Tickets are available at the DiBrina Box office in person at 170 Shaughnessy Street in Downtown Sudbury, by phone (705-674-8381) or online at sudburytheatre.ca.
