LA NUIT SUR L’ETANG CELEBRATES FRANCO-ONTARIAN CULTURE
Sudbury knows what celebrating Franco-Ontarian tradition is all about! La Nuit sur L’Etang hosts an annual concert, bringing traditional Francophone music to Northern Ontario for over 40 years. Giving a platform to the Franco-Ontarian community in a city as culturally diverse and into art as Sudbury, La Nuit sur L’Etang incredibly puts together a night of some of the most eclectic, interesting music you’ll hear! Before moving to Sudbury, the most intense interaction I had with French was in class three times a week. A lover of French culture (a budding Francophile, if you will) or for people who are looking to reconnect with their French side but are looking for something different than trying to keep up with their relatives speaking super-fast at family reunions, La Nuit sur L’Etang is a parfait place to start. Groups such as the Yves Lambert Trio and Les Pourquoi Pas took to the stage Friday night to a crowd of Francophones and Anglophones alike for a high-energy night of music!
A staple event for Francophone music-lovers, Paul Lefebvre joined in on the festivities!

Missed the fun last weekend? No worries! Coming up at the end of May is La Brunante – an Ontario music contest for Franco-Ontarians aged 15-30 who will take to the stage on May 25-27 at College Boreal. Registration for groups is still open and can be found on their website: lanuit.ca/labrunante
