Laurentian’s Relay for Life: A Walk to Remember
Event: March 5th, 2016 – 7:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. @ Ben Avery Gymnasium
Website: www.relayforlife.ca/laurentianu
Cancer is a disease that affects us all, either directly or indirectly. Everyone knows someone who has had their lives touched by this horrible disease. The Relay for Life is an event that brings the community together and inspires us to remember those that we have lost to cancer and those still fighting the disease.
This year, two of our own Laurentian students are working together to make a difference in the fight against cancer!
Jessica Harris and Kourtney LaRose are organizing Laurentian University’s very own version of this charitable evening. They are in charge of the Charity Committee of Laurentian residence, and are looking to call the Laurentian community to action to help raise funds to support cancer research via the Relay for Life style events that benefit the Canadian Cancer Society. This is the breakthrough fundraiser for these two ladies and their committee. Although participation in the event is restricted to the Laurentian community, everyone in the Sudbury area is welcome to support and sponsor!
The monetary goal is $15,000, and to date they have reached $11,000, which is a huge step towards making this event an incredible success. To donate, or for more details on how to participate, or sponsor a team or an individual, visit www.relayforlife.ca/laurentianu.
Way to go Jessica and Kourtney!
