Get ready to bust a gut! Its the most hilarious time of the year here in the Nickel City as LOL Comedy Festival gears up to present another weekend full of stand up March 15^th-17^th! The LOL crew has been scouting all year looking for the funniest acts, the best satire, the wittiest commentary – its a tough job but someones gotta do it. Between club shows, headlining acts, Francophone comedians, there’s something for everyone’s taste. There’s a lot to take in so here’s a break down of all the shows going on this weekend. Don’t Quit Your Day Job: Northern Celeb Comedy Showdown @ Durham Social – 80 Durham St, 7:30-9:30PM, Cost: $20

A select few of Northern Ontario’s bravest celebrities have decided to leave behind their 9-5’s for the LOL Sudbury stage and try their (shaking) hand at comedy! Up to 12 regional celebrities will compete for a chance to pocket a cool $1,500 for the charity of their choice and to go down in history as Northern Ontario’s funniest celebrity! Sudbury’s favourite dirty relative, Aunt Zelda, will be hosting and has guaranteed this show will run like a well-oiled…machine!

This will be one of four Club Shows presented at the Durham Social located at downtown’s 80 Durham Street, in Sudbury. LOL Sudbury wants you to de-stress after a long week of work and come out for some unbridled fun! Bring a friend, grab a drink, and laugh in the aisles to an unforgettable night out! Host Cal Post will be joined by the incomparable Andrew Chapman, Ted Morris, Tim Rabnett and Elvira Kurt. Sirius XM’s Top Comic Showcase @ Durham Social – 80 Durham St, 7:30-10:30PM, Cost: $26

SiriusXM scours the country every year for the best in Canadian comedy with SiriusXM’s Top Comic and they’re bringing some of that homegrown comedy to you. Join them during this live taping to be aired on SiriusXM’s Canada Laughs, a 24/7 Canadian comedy channel broadcast across North America. With the always-funny Ben Miner hosting, he’ll be joined by Nigel Grinstead, Chantal Marostica, Steph Tolev, Adrian Cronk and Ryan Dillion. The show will be live taped for SiriusXM listeners across the continent with audiences able to remain after the show for the live podcast taping to follow at 11:30PM.

We take Pride in our amazing LGBT community and wanted to deliver a hilarious and inclusive comedy showcase. Your identity or orientation doesn’t matter here –you’ll LOVE this show if you like to LAUGH! Fruitpunch! will be hosted by the side-splitting Ted Morris and will feature the hilarious comedic styling’s of Paul Hutcheson and Kyle Brownrigg, and will be headlined by the legendary Elvira Kurt. 

LOL Late Night @ Durham Social – 80 Durham St, 7:30-9:30PM, Cost: $26

Id inspired and I.D. required… this ain’t your parents’ quiet and quaint comedy club show! LOL Late Night features comics guaranteed to cram the night with laughter. No kidding. These are some of the most hilarious off-the-wall talents gracing comedy stages today! This Club Show will be hosted by the hilarious Tony Krolo and will feature the comedic stylings of Andrew Chapman, Cal Post, Martha Chaves and Bobby Knauff.
