NLFB PATIO TOUR BRINGS LIVE MUSIC TO THE CITY AGAIN!

If you’ve been missing live music just as much as we have this event is for you! Northern Lights Festival Boreal has built a decades-long reputation of offering unique and exciting performance opportunities for regional artists. In these wild times, the NLFB team has risen to the occasion once again with their upcoming PATIO TOUR! Grab a few pals this Saturday, August 29th and hit up any one of eight venues featuring performances from four local musicians. Heck, if you’re feeling ambitious stop at a few and make a day of it! This event is completely free but don’t forget to sample some delicious local eats and tasty drinks while you’re at it. Our local food scene has so much to offer. If music is the food of the soul after all so you’re bound to work up an appetite!

Participating locations include; The Townehouse Tavern, The Laughing Buddha, La Fromagerie, Twiggs Coffee Roasters, 84 Station, Tuco’s Taco Lounge, Di Gusto, and P&M’s Kouzzina.

JAMIE DUPUIS – 1PM TOWNEHOUSE TAVERN / 2PM DI GUSTO

Guitarist/composer Jamie Dupuis was born in New Liskeard ON Canada. Jamie recorded his first studio album “Inspired by a Dream” in 2011. After receiving an international scholarship through competition, he placed first out of 1000 competitors in the “Full Ride Scholarship 2011” at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California. Prior to this, Jamie graduated from Cambrian College in Classical Guitar performance, studying under Philip Candelaria. Jamie has since established himself as a known musician/teacher in Northern Ontario.

PAUL LEMELIN – 1:30PM LAUGHING BUDDHA / 2:30PM TWIGGS

Canadian Grand Master Fiddle Champion Paul Lemelin, from Sudbury Ontario Canada, has been playing the fiddle since the age of 4 and has been competing at various contests since the age of 8. He enjoys teaching the fiddle, guitar, mandolin, and piano. Paul is also the President of the “Fiddleworks/Violon à l’œuvre” organization in Chelmsford Ontario, the host of the “Northern Ontario Fiddle and Stepdance Championship”. Paul has won a number of competitions including first place in the Open category in Sturgeon Falls Ontario, Chelmsford Ontario, Richmond, Ontario as well as three wins in Pembroke Ontario.

TOMMY FYFE – 5PM 84 STATION / 6PM P&M’S KOUZZINA

Tommy Fyfe has been a leader in the city’s music scene for 30 years. While the Whiskey River Blues Band still flies regularly, Tom uses Dr. Tom’s Travelling Medicine Show to celebrate old-time blues and ragtime with daughter Stephanie Fyfe.

MATT FOY – 5:30PM LA FROMAGERIE / 6:30PM TUCO’S TACO LOUNGE

Driven by 50’s and 60’s instrumental music Matt Foy will take you on a cinematic journey through dust bowls, dive bars, and speedways. Having played with countless projects over the years with some of Sudbury’s best musicians, Matt Foy occasionally allows the spotlight to shine on him and his love of early guitar music.

Jessica Lovelace is a Public Relations and Communications grad, musical theatre enthusiast, lover of live music and part-time unicorn tamer. Some have said that the Big Dripper from Sub City is a regional delicacy and the perfect end to a Sudbury Saturday Night – Jessica is definitely one of those people. No, the hair is not a perm.
