Pride Concert Series

Music is always a huge part of any pride celebration and Fierté Sudbury Pride is certainly not disappointing on that front! They have put together three nights of outstanding performances from queer and allied artists. Kicking things off on July 14th is Jennifer Holub, her music confronts social injustice with bold force and powerful vocals. Her passion for equality and justice is evident, we highly recommend checking out her album The Reckoning. Tafari Anthony follows up, bringing you all the funk, soul, and pop melodies you need to get through your week! His music has been featured on MTV, PAPER Magazine, and even Gay Times Magazine. He’s performed all over the world but has a special connection to Sudbury that we’re happy keeps bringing him back. G.R. Gritt is a Juno Award-winning, Two-Spirit, Transgender, Francophone, Anishinaabe/Metis artist. Journeying through their own transition and identity, their music creates and warm and welcoming place for self-reflection.

Pride Concert Series performances are scheduled at 7 PM July 14th,15th, 16th and will be hosted on Facebook Live.

Queerantine Panels

Not only is pride week a great time to celebrate the strides that have been made for representation it is also an opportunity to learn. Over Queerantine you have the chance to participate in daily panel discussions on a variety of topics important to the queer community. Facilitated by Fierté Sudbury Pride this will be a great chance to learn from community leaders in Sudbury and ask questions. Community Forum on Policing will allow a chance for racialized and marginalized communities to speak to their experiences with law enforcement. In Data & Queeries, Suzanne Mills, Associate Professor, at McMaster University returns to report results from her research about the experiences of LGBTQ+ workers that many people from Sudbury participated in. L’intersectionnalité et la santé des personnes LGBTQ + will be a francophone discussion on the challenges faced by marginalized individuals in our community. The Queerantine Youth panel will give a voice to young queer people to talk about their experience and how Sudburians can support them.

Space is limited for panel discussions, please register in advance at www.sudburypride.com.
