Shop Local: Take a Peek at Stitch & Stone’s New Location
By now you’ve probably heard that Sudbury’s boho boutique Stitch & Stone has made the move to a larger location just up the road from its previous home on Cedar Street! Our co-founders decided to check out the new shop together last week, and they fell in love with everything in the store! Stitch & Stone owner Gabrielle Roy shared all the details with us.
What made you decide to make the move? Where is Stitch & Stone now located?
Our little shop grew much quicker than anticipated! We quickly ran out of room to properly merchandise and accommodate all of our lovely customers!! Our online store really took off, and we needed more storage space for inventory. We have that now! We moved just a few doors down to 58 Cedar Street. We love the vibe of our location, so we were thrilled to be able to take over more space and stay in the neighborhood.
What is your favourite thing about the new Stitch & Stone location?
The energy, and I think that most people will agree! It is my home away from home. It is so cozy and welcoming…and now we have room for our customers to wander around comfortably. Oh, and we now have change rooms…proper ones! It’s so exciting!
We noticed that you have a lot of new products and brands for spring! Can you tell us about some of your new pieces?
We are really excited to carry more Canadian made products. We have picked up quite a few lines from Montreal that have been a huge hit! Swimwear, home décor…oh and have I mentioned Free People?
How has the response been to the new location?
So far the response has been amazing! We are so grateful for the amazing support from our community! It’s always a little scary taking on something new…and sometimes you have doubts…but if you follow your gut and listen, you’ll be okay! The move feels like it was the right one. So far the response has been very positive, and for that I am truly grateful!
Do you have any other surprises in store for Stitch & Stone this summer?
Well, as you all know, I like to think of my store as more of an experience, than simply a shopping destination. I took over more space because there are some amazing events that I want to host that I know will be very new for Sudbury! I have to keep it under wraps for now, but I promise, it’s going to be lots of fun!
