Sudbury 2019 Summer Festivals
Mark your calendars because it is festival season in Sudbury! Every summer we are treated with weekend after weekend of amazing music, art, and delicious food. We’ve rounded up the festivals taking place this summer so all you have to do is save the date and pick up your tickets.
St-Jean Day Festival
La Slague du Carrefour francophone and La St-Jean Sudbury will be hosting la grande St-Jean, a full-day family festival on Saturday, June 22 from 12:30 to 10 PM on Elgin Street in downtown Sudbury. The day will include live music, a wide variety of activities, comedy, improv and will mark the official start of construction of Place des Arts du Grand Sudbury.

Northern Lights Festival Boreal
Northern Lights Festival Boréal (NLFB) is Canada’s longest running, outdoor music festival and the theme for this year is songcraft – the art and science of penning a great song. The festival takes places July 4 – 7 at Bell Park and has announced another amazing lineup Six-time Juno winner, Sam Roberts Band are one of the exciting headliners the NLFB team has for us this year.

Sudbury Dragon Boat Festival
On July 13th, spend the day cheering on all of the Dragon Boat teams at Bell Park and celebrate 20 years of the festival. Between races you can enjoy some delicious foods and check out the local vendors There will be activities for the kids and cold drinks for the adults. Funds raised for this event are donated to the NEO Kids Foundation.

Greater Sudbury Blueberry Festival
The Greater Sudbury Blueberry Festival will be celebrating it’s 35th year this July 14-21. They haven’t announced their 2019 events yet, but we know it is going to be delicious.

River & Sky
Pack your bags and enjoy a weekend of camping and music along the Sturgeon River this July 18-21. This is a family friendly event so bring the kids – there are events for festival goers of all ages. At night you’ll be able to star gaze with the North Bay Astronomy Club’s telescope. This is a small festival so get your tickets before they sell out!

Up Here
For the last 5 years, Up Here has been adding a little bit of colour to our downtown core and we cannot wait to see what they have in store for 2019! From August 16-18, you can catch live music, art installations, what a mural transform our buildings and check out a downtown Sudbury Art Crawl. Don’t forget to download the app so you don’t miss any of the secret pop-up shows.

Sudbury Poutine Festival
This tasty festival returns to Sudbury August 23-25th at Bell Park and you can expect lots of delicious poutine, live music and lots of activities for the whole family. Our favorite part of the Sudbury Poutine Festival is Ceasar Sunday! Not much can beat delicious poutine and a $5 Cesar.

Jazz Sudbury
Jazz Sudbury will be taking over Sudbury on September 4-8. You’ll be able to spend the weekend catching amazing music at Bell Park, various downtown venues as well as a New Orleans style parade. One of our favourite parts of the Jazz Sudbury festival is the Emerging Artists Showcase winner performance. The 2019 winner is the Ian McGimpsey Quartet and you can catch that performance on the main stage Saturday, September 7th.

Cinéfest Sudbury
Cinéfest Sudbury is our very own International Film Festival that brings some highly acclaimed Canadian and World films to Sudbury from September 14-22.
