Top 5 Holiday Events in Sudbury this month
Halloween is behind us and November has arrived which means it is almost time to start getting excited for the holidays. We really love the Holidays over here at Our Crater so we’re already pulling out our Christmas trees and heading to Starbucks for one of their much anticipated holiday drinks. (I’m obsessed with the Caramel Brulee lattee and may have already had a few…). There are always a lot of exciting things happening in our favouriet city but today we want to get festive and talk holiday events so we’re rounding up our top five favourite holiday events happening this month.
Lo Ellen Holiday Market
You can get all of your holiday shopping done in one day but be prepared to fight the crowds because this holiday market is always packed with shoppers. The vendors all sell unique items and shopping local is a big bonus so get your lists ready and head to Lo Ellen on Friday, November 10th until Sunday, November 12th.
IODE City of Lakes Tour of Homes
Who doesn’t love to peak into other peoples homes? Especially around the holidays. The decor is always outstanding and we love touring our city from a new perspective. This year’s tour features two unique homes of interest and four homes artfully decorated for the holidays. The tour takes place this Sunday, November 12th from 11am-5pm.
Santa Claus Parade
Bundle up because it always ends up being one of the coldest nights of the year but the beautifully decorated floats makes it worth it. Plus, how adorable is it to see all of the kids freaking out over Santa Claus? This year’s parade takes place on Saturday, November 18th at 5:30pm.
The Festival of Lights
Every year Science North partners with the Sudbury Charities Foundation and KICX 91.7 to light up the shores of Ramsey Lake for the annual festival of lights. We love grabbing a coffee from Old Rock and heading down to Science North to check out the light display every year. The launch is on Sunday, November 19th from 5-7pm.
CP Holiday Train
For 19 years, this has become a tradition for a lot of families. Hundreds of people pile into our tiny little rail station yard to check out the lights on the CP Holiday Train while enjoying some live music from a few different performers. The train raises funds and food for local food banks. It’s cold and crowded but we’ll be there again this year. The train rolls into Sudbury on Wednesday, November 29th at 8:50pm and this year’s performers are Colin James and Emma-Lee.
