 Celebrity Server for Crohn’s & Colitis Gutsy Walk – Join us for our fundraiser night for Crohn’s and Colitis! Join us at Boston Pizza for a delicious dinner on April 25 from 5-8pm. When they ask if you are here to support Crohn’s and Colitis, all you have to do is say “YES” it’s that easy! Crohn’s and Colitis will be raising dough for their Gutsy Walk and 10% of food sales will be donated to this very worthwhile cause! We will also have an information area focused on raising awareness about IBD and our upcoming Gutsy Walk. You can also “meet” some of the volunteers and hear their stories! 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. @ Boston Pizza – 120 Donna Drive

Lo-Ellen Park Poetry Slam – The Third Annual Lo-Ellen Park Poetry Slam will take place on Tuesday, April 26th, at 7:00 p.m. in the cafeteria performance space at Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School. 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. @ Lo-Ellen Park Secondary School – 275 Loach’s Road

Science Cafés – Modern Mining: What’s in the future? – With over 500 mining sector companies operating and innovating in the Greater Sudbury area, our community has been dubbed “the Silicon Valley of mining”. The mining sector isn’t just a huge driver locally; some of the greatest innovations in mining have originated here and are being adopted globally. But many questions remain in the field of mining innovation. What impact do these innovations have on improving health and safety and reducing risk? Will they replace existing jobs? When we look at mining then and now, how far have we come – and where are we going? 7:30 p.m. @ The Laughing Buddha – 194 Elgin Street

The Boy Who Trived – 3 rounds of 15 questions, and one bonus question per round. Pages are marked a-la grade 5 math class by passing them to a friend. Points scored for being awesome and promoting awesome things! Find a funny answer on someone’s card, even if its not the right answer you can still nominate them for an awesome star. We also reward jokers and pranksters and all those who don’t cheat! Winner takes home bragging rights and some awesome prizes. Book Club Launch – SACY Has officially received funding to begin a Literacy Program, and a large part of it is going to be bringing books into the Centre, and having a reading club. We don’t know all the best books out there, or what you guys would wanna read, so it’s open ot suggestions.The best part, is that the program has the budget to get 12 copies of a book (2 for the centre, 10 for you guys to sign up to), if you sign up, attend, and talk about what you loved, hated, and even just thought about the book, you get to keep it at the end. 3:00 p.m. @ Sudbury Action Centre for Youth – 105 Elm Street, Unit A

Celebrity Server: Churchill PS for Maison Vale Hospice – Join us at Boston Pizza on 120 Donna Drive as we host volunteers from Churchill Public School as they raise dough for Maison Vale Hospice! All you have to do to help out this great cause is answer “YES” when our hostesses ask if you are here to support Churchill Public School. They will raise 10% of sales between 5-8pm will go towards their charitable donations to Maison Vale Hospice. 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. @ Boston Pizza – 120 Donna Drive

The Breast Cancer Gala – We are excited to announce the very first annual “Breast Cancer Gala”. All proceeds of this event will be going to the Northern Cancer Foundation of Sudbury to help support breast cancer research. All proceeds raised are staying local in our community to help the fight against breast cancer. It is our pleasure to invite you to join us at this year’s event! The Breast Cancer Gala will include a cocktail hour, buffet dinner, silent auction, photo booth, cash bar, candy bar, and a dance to conclude the evening.
