Northern Lights Writes + Literary Tribute to Leonard Cohen – Regular spoken word open mic hosted by Northern Lights Festival Boréal. Spoken word, poetry, slam, novel excerpts, short stories, storytelling, hip hop, and beyond. Perform/read your own or someone elses. Performers are encouraged to include some Leonard Cohen lyrics/poetry/literature this month. Of course, other material is encouraged as well. For this edition, we will even allow musical performance! 9:00 p.m. @ Speakeasy – 113 Durham Street

SGDC Pre-Challenge Unity Workshop – Bone up on your Unity skills in the weekend leading up to the SGDC! The SGDC’s own fiendishly handsome Mike Daoust will be teaching a semi-guided workshop on how to use Unity to make a very simplistic game. And by that, mostly he means he’ll be swearing a lot and hoping things work out okay. 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. @ NORCAT – 1545 Maley Drive
