Slowcooker Favourites – One pot, no dishes! We’ll create and sample 3 delicious meals using a slow cooker and you can bring home a total of 10 different recipes to mix things up at home! M2M Expert Series Workplace Wellness – Join Lisa Lounsbury, President & founder of New Day Wellness, for this informative session on Workplace Wellness in the chamber boardroom. January is a great time to leverage off the typical new year resolution craze to initiate new wellness programs into the workplace. With the cost of health care and absenteeism on the rise, it’s beneficial to support the wellness needs of employees. During this session participants will experience how physical exercise, healthy food options and mental health strategies can be incorporated into any given work day in any industry. The Ultimate Best Lasagne Recipe – Great lasagna starts with freshly made lasagna sheets and quality ingredients. Trivia Night – 3 rounds of 15 questions, and one bonus question per round. Pages are marked a-la grade 5 math class by passing them to a friend. Points scored for being awesome and promoting awesome things! Find a funny answer on someone’s card, even if its not the right answer you can still nominate them for an awesome star. We also reward jokers and pranksters and all those who don’t cheat! Winner takes home bragging rights and some awesome prizes. Steven Page | Ending the Stigma Surrounding Mental Health – A witty, articulate and mesmerizing speaker, singer/songwriter Steven Page is probably best known as a founding member of The Barenaked Ladies with whom he toured the globe and sold millions of albums. On his own, Steven continues his artistic evolution with a diverse array of solo projects. To that end, he has composed five Stratford Festival scores, collaborated on two releases and toured with Toronto’s innovative Art of Time ensemble and journeyed across North America as host of TV’s The Illegal Eater while continuing to write, release and perform his original music. In 2011 – as a guest host on a CBC’s “The Current” Steven acknowledged his own struggles with depression and since then, has supported many mental health awareness events encouraging others to share their stories and seek help; “When we educate everyone about the truths and myths of mental health, we can open up dialogue, and get down to the business of promoting good mental health.” 7:30 p.m. @ Fraser Auditorium – 935 Ramsey Lake Road
Townehouse Variety Hour – The Townehouse Variety Hour is here once again to melt your brain. The interesting thing about this open stage is that it’s actually fun to watch! Winter Whipperfest Lead Climbing Contest – One of the goals of the comp is to have fun. The other goal is to raise money for our youth team climbers with proceeds from the $10 entry fee going towards the youth team!
