Kreative Kids – Father’s Day Surprise! (shhh) – Do you have a little Picasso in the house? Are you looking for a fun and exciting place for them to go once a week to enjoy creating things? It’s a Mona Lisa Thing has a full working art studio that hosts many different workshops and lessons and we have recently started a painting and craft session for kids only! In this session we will work on a very very special surprise for Father’s Day! I can’t tell you what it is (cuz Dad might be reading this!) but it will be crafty!! Whoo hooo! SDS Socials – SDS Socials — a fun, casual, social hang. It’s a great opportunity to hang out, meet new people, and maybe try a few new things. Join us for a night of trivia fun at the Fromagerie Elgin. Trivia starts at 7PM sharp, but be sure to show up early to snag a seat. $5 per person. THE INVITATION is the latest feature by American Director Karyn Kusama (Girlfight.) This is a highly lauded feature. Weather Prediction: Is your forecaster just guessing? – We’ve all heard the jokes: weather forecasters get it wrong. But do they really? Advances in meteorology have improved our forecasting capabilities dramatically over the last few decades, and new research is pushing the boundaries of what we can predict all the time. If the public perception is that forecasts are just coin tosses, the reason may lie in our understanding of how forecasting really works. What kinds of uncertainty are inherent to weather forecasting? How are our current models changing with new research and in our changing climate? Wild About Comedy Night 2016 – Wild At Heart’s 7th Annual Comedy Night will be held Friday June 3rd at Sixth Avenue Golf Course, 320 Sixth Avenue, Lively. Included with the purchase of one (1) ticket: cocktail hour hors d’oeuvres, 3-course sit-down dinner, comedy performance from Master Ventriloquist Mark Crocker, musical entertainment, and silent and live auctions. Dress code/attire is “smart casual”. Physical tickets will be mailed until Friday, May 27th, 2016. After that date, they will be held for pick-up at the door.
