2016 Northern Ontario Tourism Summit – The Northern Ontario Tourism Summit was developed as a partnership event between Nature and Outdoor Tourism Ontario (NOTO) and Tourism Northern Ontario (TNO) to bring together tourism businesses, organizations and suppliers as well as all levels of Government to find solutions to challenges facing the industry. This important event also brings industry together to learn about the latest trends, markets and tourism products in order to keep our industry offerings competitive on the world wide stage. Open Resume Clinic – We offer 15-minute walk-in visits for quick résumé and cover letter critiques, on-the-spot job search advice, overview of services, and introductory career decision-making guidance. Walk-ins are available on a first-come, first-served basis in the Career Centre in room 2409. No appointment necessary. A paper (hard) copy of any documents (cover letter, resume, etc.) to be reviewed is required. 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. @ Cambrian College Career Centre – 1400 Barrydowne Road 

Local Author Talk with Latitude 46: Danielle Daniel – Local author Danielle Daniel will talk about the writing process and discuss her latest book Dependent: A Memoir of Marriage and the Military. She is the author and illustrator of Sometimes I Feel Like a Fox, a finalist for the First Nation Community Reads Literary Award and one of NY Public Library’s most notable books for 2015. 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. @ Greater Sudbury Public Library – 74 Mackenzie Street

Independence Club for Women – Empowering women through casual financial discussion! Whether you’ve experienced a life changing event such as loss or seperation, or you simply want to have a better understanding of your financial situation; we encourage you to join us!  Norman Piché & Associates will be hosting monthly luncheon sessions with the goal of empowering women through financial discussion. Sudbury Trivia Night – 3 rounds of 15 questions, and one bonus question per round. Pages are marked a-la grade 5 math class by passing them to a friend. Points scored for being awesome and promoting awesome things! Find a funny answer on someone’s card, even if it’s not the right answer you can still nominate them for an awesome star. We also reward jokers and pranksters and all those who don’t cheat! Winner takes home bragging rights and some awesome prizes. NCRD’s Roller Dance Class! – Roller Dance to the beat and work up a sweat! All you need is roller skates. Additional safety gear is recommended. Rental gear available upon **advance** request.  To participate in the advance class you must be able to: -Turn FWD to BWD while rolling  -Skate backwards -Squat as low to the floor as you can without falling -Demonstrate how you know how to stop. If we have enough beginner skaters we will have an intro to skating class at the same time. No experience needed for the beginner class. You will learn to skate, stop and transition. Shabby Upcycled Ornaments-Sophisticated Crafting – We’re kicking it up a notch in the craft world! It’s a Mona Lisa Thing has a full working art studio that hosts many different workshops and lessons and we have recently started a painting and craft session for serious crafters. This sophisticated craft event is for anyone looking to make some seriously beautiful crafts and creations. In this session, we will be taking those old ornaments that have seen better days and upcycling them! You will learn faux painting techniques, decoupage, application of trinkets, applying metallic paint or sparkles to your creations and much, much more to give new life to those old ornaments. Each participate is to bring their old ornaments with them to the session. All other supplies will be provided. Cost: $25 – 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. @ It’s a Mona Lisa Thing – 54 Elgin Street

Late Night Comedy with Constable Rick Lemieux  – Rick Lemieux will have you falling off of your seat as he draws you into his world of zaniness. High energy and a fantastic… wit make this act a hard one to follow. The jokes come hard and fast at the expense of his family, friends and better half – all feel Rick’s comedic wrath! For several years, Rick has been organizing various comedy shows to raise much needed funds for many non-profit organizations. The shows have proven to be very successful and have raised over $60,000. In 2014, Rick started the Timmins Comedy Festival, which has featured many of Canada’s top comedians. Rick is also a well established comedian and has worked throughout Canada. He’s shared the stage with comedy greats, Derek Edwards, Mike MacDonald, Pete Zedlacher, and in December 2016 he will be working with Brent Butt.
